Seafarer Sailing Holidays Greece

Athens (Kalamaki Marina, Lavrion)

Seafarer's main operational base is in the Kalamaki marina in Athens, close to the airport and hotels and all of the support services essential to the successful operation of a yacht charter business. The head office is within easy walking distance of the marina. The Islands of the Saronic, to the southwest of Athens retain their distinct Greek Island flavor in spite of their close proximity to the Athens metropolis. Aegina, Poros, Hydra and Spetses all offer the yachtsman an experience other visitors will certainly miss.

The Saronic Gulf is land locked to the north so the waters of the gulf are protected from the prevailing northernly breeze in summer. Further south there is the magnificent Peloponnese coast, way off the trail of mainstream tourism. Visit Nafplion and Astros in the Argolis Gulf and then sail lazily along to Leonidion, Kiparissi, Yeraka and Monemvassia with its spectacular Byzantine ruins. The islands of the Cyclades offer the Greek Islands that dreams are made of. Blue shuttered, whitewashed houses climbing up step hillsides around tiny sheltered harbors.

Call into Mykonos, Tinos, Syros, Paros, Naxos, Kythnos, Kea, Milos, Santorini; the list goes on and you could easily spend a weekin each of them. In the summer the meltemi can blow up to force 8 in the central Aegean and passages are longer than in the Saronic so this group of some 30 islands is definately for the more experienced yachtsman.
